This is the modern and very impressive replacement of the century-old aquarium operated by the world-famous Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Birch Aquarium offers you a front row seat for viewing a huge variety of fish and marine life swimming and floating around their inside exhibits. You can then head outside to the Tide Pool Plaza with more to see, including a stellar oceanfront view.
Enjoy Shark Reef, the Hall of Fishes, Coral Reef, and the Seahorse exhibit. This place really is a special insight into a world we donʼt normally get to see.

Birch Aquarium has its own parking lot, and parking is free for three hours.
Open 9am – 5pm 7 days/week
Closed on the following days: November 2, 2017, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Days.
Splash! is an on-site café by The French Gourmet, open 9am – 4:30pm.
